Meridan State College is proud to launch our new SFET Education Centre
Our Centre imagines, plans, co-creates and facilitates high quality, engaging, creative and responsive learning experiences for educators, students and community members. These experiences are offered in face-to-face, online and hybrid modes to respond to community needs. The range and models of our learning experiences are constantly evolving to respond to the needs, challenges and interests of our community.

Join us at SFS 2024 - our inaugural Sustainable Futures Summit where participants will attend sessions with the ACARA team and develop their understanding of the futures orientated Sustainability Cross-Curriculum Priority. Participants will learn how to plan units of work and learning activities which have a sustainability focus and explore best practice examples of units of work and learning experiences from across Australia.
Participants will also network and share ideas with organisations, groups, and educators who share a vision for supporting P-12 learners to develop the skills they need to contribute to
sustainable futures.

This workshop is designed to answer all your questions about sustainability. Take a journey through the history of sustainability arriving at an understanding of the current global to local change required to implement sustainability, including achieving the sustainable development goals.
Join us to:
• Develop a deeper understanding of sustainability and the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals.
• Learn how easy it is for everyone to be involved in this exciting change in all aspects of our personal, work and social lives.
• Take part in practical activities that will support all learners to deepen their own understanding of sustainability.

Our Play, Wonder and Learn - Interactive Learning Conference for Early Years Educators is back in 2024 and we are thrilled to announce the return of one of the world's leading thinkers in inquiry learning Kath Murdoch.
Our theme for the conference is inspired by Kath's work and is Cultivating Curiosity with Early Years learners. We look forward to welcoming educators from across Australia to our SFET Education Centre for an engaging and practical day of professional learning covering a broad range of topics including Inquiry Learning, the Science of Reading, Sustainability in the Early Year, leveraging Digital Technologies and exploring AI in the Early Years.

Join our SFET Education Centre Manager Kristine Kopelke for this AI
workshop where participants will learn how to train a machine learning model and use it to make games and interactive animated scenes in Scratch.
Activities shared and explored are perfect to help students gain a basic understanding of how AI and machine learning systems work.
Participants attending this workshop need to have basic level experience with MIT's Scratch programming environment. Resources and example projects will be shared with participants to enable them to use modelled activities with their students.
